We are a 4th grade class.
We are making the transition from Spanish to English this year.

8:00-9:00- Language Arts-Grammar
9:00- 10:11:00- Reading
Recess 9:40- 10:00
11:00-12:10- Math
Lunch 12:10-12:40-Lunch
12:40-1:00 math
1:00-1:15- Smart time
1:15-2:05- Specials-(PE, Music, Art)
2:05-3:05- Social studies/ science
3:10- Dismissal

We will be reading in a book every night for 30 minutes.
We will have homework on Monday through Thursday nights as well.
We will be working very hard this year so that we can have a SUPER SUCCESSFUL year.

Monday homework - Announced each day, check your planner. Sentences from the weekly word study list
Tuesday homework will  be either a Writing practice or reading practice assignment. Math homework will be announced each day. Check your planner
Wednesday homework will be announced in both reading and math. Check your planner.
Thursday homework will be to complete the first draft of the weekly composition and an editing selection. Check your student planner for the math homework.Remember to study the day's notes, and your word study words for the test on Friday.
Friday- Sunday homework is to read in books for 30 minutes each day.
Success occurs with  effort and perserverance.
Parents are welcomed to come for a conference from 1:15-2:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. Should you need a conference after school, please call to make arrangements.

Math-Geometry/Multiplication and division
Language Arts- narrative and expository writngs
Reading- summary, main idea, details, context clues,inferencing in fiction and non-fiction and poetry
Social Studies- Texas Revolution / Republic of Texas
Science- Weather / Natural resources
We have come a long way but we have a long way to go. Please support your child's efforts as we work hard for success.
